The Child Nutrition Fund Welcomes ELMA Relief Foundation's Contribution to Combat Child Wasting
ELMA Relief Foundation Strengthens Global Fight Against Child Wasting with $2M Contribution to UNICEF’s Child Nutrition Fund
6 September 2024 – New York, NY – The Child Nutrition Fund (CNF) is pleased to announce a generous contribution from the ELMA Relief Foundation to its “Match Window”, an essential part of UNICEF's Procurement Services aimed at combating child wasting in high-burden countries. The ELMA Relief Foundation’s commitment of USD 2,000,000, marks a significant step in the global effort to ensure that every child has access to life-saving nutrition.
This partnership underscores ELMA Relief Foundation’s dedication to addressing the critical issue of child malnutrition, particularly in countries where child wasting is most prevalent. Child wasting, a severe form of malnutrition that affects millions of children worldwide, impairs growth and development, leaving children vulnerable to illness and death. The CNF Match Window is designed to tackle this challenge by encouraging governments to increase their investment in ready-to-use therapeutic food (RUTF) and other essential nutrition supplies. Through this initiative, the CNF matches the financial commitments made by eligible governments, effectively doubling the impact of their investments in child nutrition.
The CNF remains committed to working with partners like the ELMA Relief Foundation to ensure that every child can grow up healthy and strong. The organization is grateful for the continued support of donors who share in the mission of safeguarding children’s rights and well-being.
