Supporting children and women around the world

The Child Nutrition Fund (CNF) focuses on countries with the highest levels of child undernutrition, including stunting and wasting. Guided by UNICEF, WHO and the World Bank’s Joint Malnutrition Estimates, the CNF targets support to countries where the need is greatest and the potential for impact is highest. More recently, the CNF has also begun using the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) Acute Malnutrition classification to identify high-need contexts.

All updates to CNF country eligibility criteria are reviewed and endorsed by the CNF Steering Committee to ensure decisions remain evidence-based and aligned with the CNF’s nutrition mandate. Through this approach, the CNF continues to focus its efforts on countries most affected by undernutrition, helping strengthen national systems, scale up essential nutrition services, and achieve lasting results for children and women.

As of November 2025, the following 63 countries from Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America are eligible to receive CNF support:
